There is even a date - 19th December - inauguration day of the people mover, the tourist monorail funicular, designed to connect Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto and Marittima. This will be one of the structural works which will be completed by the Municipal Administration, before its expiry and which will be managed by Asm, the council company for services to the mobility. The preparing structure works are going on and they are leaded by the firms Sacaim and Dopplemeyr.
From December the miniature railway should join Tronchetto with Marittima and Piazzale Roma in three minutes only. The rail skeleton is already well-visible, as well as the three raised stations, which are five metres over the ground. The arrival station will be on the first floor of the municipal garage, in the corner towards San Marco’s garage. The track, five metres over the ground, will also cross ex Aci’s parking in San Andrea, close to the church. |
